7. Final Draft

I chose the desk in my room where I am doing my homework. Next to me is my Laptop, which color is black. The Laptop´s size is normal and the keyboard feels smooth and comfortable.
On the corner of my desk is my desk lamp. It has a round ground and its color is black too. The lamp is covered with a bit dust and feels rough.
To my left and to my right there are books and papers. The papers are written with pencil and feel rough and kinked. The books are big and colorful. One of them smells really fresh and printed, and some of them smell like old paper with a touch of printing ink. Their paper feel smooth, but rough when you feel at them exactly.
The whole desk is made out of wood. It feels very comfortable and interesting. Every part of the wood feels different with different notches. It looks like a big pattern with many different forms. You can feel the structure of the wood and the papers in detail.
Furthermore a pencil is at the desk. The color of the pencil is yellow and you can feel the strong grip. The mine is dull and worn.
In front of my room key. His lanyard is a blue rope with two black connectors at the top. The color of the key itself is dull gold. It feels cold, not malleable, and sharp. All in all I noticed that my desk is really messy.

Review: Life of Galileo by the Varsity Players.

People do not always believe the truth, but they believe what they want to.

The play Life of Galileo, by the Varsity players at Cheshire Academy, was played at the Fieldhouse in the black box. It was about the life of Galileo, starting with the invention of the telescope and ending with his captivity and most likely included his death. Mr. Anderson directed the play and Galileo, the main character, was played by Charlotte Leser. The decor of the stage was kept simple so that the audience were focused on the play. The play was two hours long with a ten minutes intermission. It showed the audience that people tend to believe things that they want to believe even if they know that they are wrong. Especially this behaviour was demonstrated between the church and the sience.

The actors did a great job and you could empathize in the role of them. Also the costumes were matching with the atmosphere. Thats why you believed that the play were played hundrets of years ago. Furthermore the stress of the spoken script were really emotional and appealing. In particular the role of Galileo impressed me. Even if the role was played by a girl, the perfomence was really convincing. Also the stage crew worked fast and the different stages were build up quickly and without a big interruption, so that you could follow the play perfectly. No actor forgot his text so that you knew that they worked together well. I especially liked the plot and the idea behind the play. The play showed you that the people tend to believe things that they like or want to believe, and not always what is true or scientifically proven. This was a big fact in the play and the reason why Galileo get captured and mocked. He invented many things and established and proved many theories, for example that the earth is a round planet and not a "disk". Even if he showed the church and the people that it is true, they did not want to believe this, because it invert and changed the view of the people. The church was worried about the fact that the person start to question the whole religion and way of thinking. This would cause a big restlessness what would not be good for the government. Therefore Galileo get isolated from the civilization. Only some scientists believed him and worked with him. A good example for this was at the end of the play were a little kid insult a woman behind a window as a witch. After this a scientist lifted him up to the window and showed him that it was a normal woman. Nevertheless the little kid still wanted to believe that it was a witch because it is more fun and more exciting. This example reflected the whole discussion between the church and Galileo. He also showed them the truth about the earth, but they still did not want to believe him.

All in all the play was very entertaining and also a kind of teaching about the way how poeple think and believe. The actors did a great job with their roles and made it good to watch especially with the help of the stage crew and the technical directions. The contect of the play was exciting and convincing. All in all the Varsity Players did a great perfomence with the play Life of Galileo.

Life of Galileo

The play Life of Galileo is played by the German dramatist Bertolt Brecht who lived in the twentieth-century. There are two versions of the play. The first one was published in Zurich, a German city and the second version is in English and was published in Los Angeles.
The play is about the life of Galileo, who found out that the world is a round planet. He was a famous scientist who invented many useful things. Also many theories were invented from Galileo. Therefor he often got in trouble with the government, because he disrespected the believes of the church and other parts of the community. This caused the fact that the citizen got scared and out of control. Therefore the government finally killed Galileo Galilee. The life of Galileo Galilee is a really important event but at the same time a really sad and dramatic event. This is an important point why the life of Galileo get played in the Theater. His life was and still is a important event in the human history. It was a big step forward in the science and in the believes of the world and how the world is build up. Galileo died in December of 1641.

Easy ways to lose the homework

Dear Mr. Kobo

I'm sorry that I lost my homework today but it seemed like god didn't want me to finish it.
Everything started 3 days ago. I had a long study hall with lots of homework, so that I fell asleep on my desk. Before this I had already finished the homework assignment. Unfortunately nobody woke me up before lights out, and I slept the whole night. Suddenly the fire alarm in VDP was switched on. A terrible noise banged into my ears. Immediately I stood up and pressed the delete button on my iPad by mistake. The homework assignment had been deleted. On the next day I was confident to start the assignment again. This time I had much work during study hall, 20 test and 10 quizzes, so that I decided to do it in the morning before class. I woke up as my alarm clock rang. After I had started to open the assignment, the fire alarm rung again. We all had to run out of the building....There was no chance to keep working on the homework. Today I hurt my hand during tennis so that I had problems with writing. However, this would never be a reason for me to skip the homework. With pain and screaming I finally finished the homework. I was sure that you would be proud of me, so I decided to go downstairs and show you my brilliant work. On the way to your room Mr. Mac Donald and his dog came to me. Surprisingly his dog was able to jump really high and before I even noticed he had ripped my homework out of my hands. After a short period of time the homework was completely eaten. And all this in front of your door.
I hope you appreciate my efforts, and I also hope that the dog will get an "F" for this assignment and not Me.
